Alex Kennedy

Partner

Alex is a Solicitor Advocate specialising in complex commercial disputes, shareholder and director matters, and contentious employment issues.

He advises a broad range of clients, including companies, directors, shareholders and senior employees, on high-value and sensitive disputes. His work often involves matters at the intersection of company and employment law, particularly disputes involving owner-managers, equity participation and exits.

Alex has significant experience in shareholder and partnership disputes, including unfair prejudice petitions, deadlock situations, partnership dissolutions and disputes arising from poorly defined governance arrangements. He also advises on employment disputes, including dismissals, restrictive covenants, redundancy processes and settlement negotiations.

As a qualified Solicitor Advocate with Higher Rights of Audience, Alex represents clients directly in the High Court and appellate courts, providing continuity from initial strategic advice through to advocacy at hearings and trial.

Alex adopts a pragmatic and commercially focused approach to dispute resolution, with an emphasis on achieving early and cost-effective outcomes where possible, while remaining prepared to pursue litigation where necessary.

He is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association.
