  • England house prices grew by 9.8% in the year to October 2021, down from 12.2% in September 2021.   
  • The East Midlands was the fastest growing region with annual growth of 11.7% in the year to October 2021.  
  •  In London, average house prices increased by 6.2% in the year to October 2021, up from an increase of 2.8% in September 2021.
  • Across England, detached houses showed the biggest increase out of all property types, growing by 13.8% in the year to October 2021 to £453,000. 
  • The lowest annual change was in flats and maisonettes which increased by 6.2% in the year to October 2021 to £241,000.
  • Across England, detached houses showed the biggest increase out of all property types, growing by 15.7% in the year to June 2021 to £438,000. 
  • In October 2021, the most expensive area to purchase a property was Kensington and Chelsea, where the average cost was £1.4 million. 
  • In contrast, the cheapest area to purchase a property was Burnley, where the average cost was £112,000.
