A mews house locally referred to as “The Little White House” because of its location inside the US Embassy’s security perimeter in Mayfair is now for sale for £2.5m according to Wetherell. The property in Blackburne Mews which dates back to 1732 was significantly re-modelled in the 1920s by William Forsyth and Hugh Maule of West End architects Forsyth & Maule. Today it offers 2,773 square feet of living space over four floors, complete with four bedroom suites, an integral garage, and a large double reception room on the first floor.

The property will be subject to considerable inconvenience during the construction works that are expected to start next year to turn the US Embassy into a 5-star luxury hotel complex. Though for investors with a longer term vision this will be seen as an opportunity to acquire a prime property which will soon be located on the doorstep of what will become one of central London’s most iconic and luxurious buildings.
