Alpha Cities Index 2017 ranks the most desirable city locations in the world in which to purchase luxury property. The Index compares the best opportunities available to the wealthy on where to buy and why. The Index covers 50 of the world’s top cities for the wealthy, with the ranking compiled from scores for a range of indicators such as cultural experience, educational opportunities, ease of doing business, connectivity, property taxation, and the city’s green credentials.
The number one ranking for London reflects its strength across the board, ranking in the top four places in more than half of the 11 indicators—cultural richness, luxury shopping, education, connectivity, financial safe haven, ease of doing business, and the number of ultra-wealthy individuals living in the city. New York ranked second followed by Tokyo and Sydney in fourth place.
