Over the coming months we will be following the Brexit negotiations – which are expected to start late next week. Before the election, the government was very determined to pursue a ‘hard’ Brexit but the results of the election may force Theresa May to adopt a softer approach. Central to the negotiations will be trade agreements and immigration.
As former UK Prime Minister Harold Wilson famously said – a week is a long time in politics. We will be closely monitoring how these matters develop as they will certainly influence how investors pursue their investment decisions.
