New and more accurate data and statistics issued tonight by the Land Registry put the average price of a London home at £470,025 up almost £60,000 on the same time last year. The data shows that the best performing boroughs in London remain Waltham Forest, Barking and Dagenham and Newham as property prices leapt in excess of 20% between April 2015 and 2016.
Despite the hike in stamp duty and general uncertainty caused by the EU referendum, prime central London still managed to register positive growth during this period. Average property prices in Kensington and Chelsea and City of Westminster increased by 1.8% and 3.2% respectively. The average price of a property in Kensington and Chelsea now stands at £1.314m.
