June 2013 was a positive month for the property market throughout the UK according to the latest numbers published by the Land Registry, with property prices moving up and the volume of repossessions going down. On average, property prices in the UK and Wales are up by 0.6% over the previous month with apartments leading the way up 2% when compared to May 2013. In London property prices moved up by a staggering 3.1%. The average price of property in London now stands at £383,930 compared to £162,621 in the whole of the UK. On a borough level, prices in prime central London (RBKC and Westminster) are up by 1.0% (on average) over the previous month. The average price of property in the Royal Borough is now £1.14M and in the City of Westminster is £807,689.
