Small Is Good

Some investors, particularly those accustomed to larger spaces back home have a tendency to shy away from acquiring smaller properties. In London however, one bedroom apartments which are usually no more than 50 square meters in size, are not to be underestimated: they make for a good investment, both from a rental and capital appreciation perspective. With prices ranging from £1,000 to £3,000 per square foot (approx £10,600 to £30,000 per square meter) a one bedroom apartment in Prime Central London may cost anything between £500,000 and £1.5m: not an insignificant expenditure. This part of the market is very active and principally driven by the demand from young professionals who are willing to sacrifice space for location, making these well-located smaller units a highly-coveted investment opportunity.
