The site on Lucan Place in Chelsea was originally bought by Mayfield Asset Management in December 2015 for £40m. The plans, which will be retained by the new owners, include the demolition of the site and the construction of 60,000 square feet of residential units valued in excess of £150m.
The Standard reports that the £50m off market sale was mainly driven by the sterling’s weakness post Brexit making the transaction some 17% cheaper.
This building was one of the properties sold by the Metropolitan Police in recent years and was the site where serial killer John Haigh was questioned back in 1949.
